Owlpen is well situated, near Bristol, Bath and Birmingham. We are just 25 miles from Bristol, 50 miles from Cardiff and 100 miles from London, making the estate easily accessible.
In Winter 2017, Owlpen was the principal location outside of London for the filming of Phantom Thread, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and starring Daniel Day-Lewis. The crew spent 3 weeks here, as well as many weeks of set-up and take-down time. For a full press release containing more information, see here.
As we are privately run, we can close the 215-acre estate entirely to provide complete privacy for productions. We offer the medieval manor house, acres of stunning gardens, nine holiday cottages, and numerous exterior locations in the woods and fields of the estate.
The Cyder House restaurant, with private office above it, is the perfect base for productions.
We have ample space for trucks and trailers which can park securely, for unlimited periods.
