Owlpen Manor Cotswold Holiday Cottages, Exclusive wedding venue, and Tudor Manor House

The Apple Loft

This chic yet traditional apartment provides a cosy and romantic retreat for two, with truly rustic charm. When we host weddings on the estate, this is the marital suite with a hair and make-up studio next door.

The split-level studio apartment, with bags of character, is set in the last bay of Owlpen’s listed Cyder Barn dating to 1446. With massive oak cruck beams and principal trusses (like ‘A’ frames) which date it to the 1450s, this historic building has been completely renovated in a contemporary style. It is also used as the ‘bridal suite’ for exclusive weddings which we host at Owlpen, and when it is used for this purpose, there is a har and make-up studio next door for exclusive use of the bridal party.

The property is accessed via a private side entrance, which has its own outside terrace and parking space. A private hallway leads to the apartment. Inside, there is a fitted kitchen with oven, hob fridge-freezer, and dining area with views over the manor house. There is a king-size bed on one side of the room, and a seating area with a sofa, armchair and coffee table, complete with a wall-mounted smart TV. The apartment also has a separate bathroom with over-bath shower. There is good wifi throughout, with a strong connection which is perfect for home working and streaming UHD video.

The space is cleverly designed so that you can fit all of this into a small space, and it overlooks the Owlpen valley to the south, and manor house to the west. Guests can enjoy use of the estate grounds, including the swimming lake which is just 200 metres away, and there are miles of woodland paths to explore during your stay.

Did we mention that dogs are welcome here? The hallway is a perfect space for them to sleep and relax, and they are welcome in the apartment, although we ask that guests bring their own throws if dogs are used to jumping on beds and sofas.
