This spacious modern farmhouse cottage is purpose-designed for 21st century holiday use. It has the advantage of being easy to run, but is built in traditional Cotswold stone style with typical gabled windows and hood moulds.
Rural seclusion for two in a sunny cottage, completely self contained, converted from an ancient Cotswold stone byre next to Owlpen’s original Elizabethan demesne farm.
This traditional cottage is laid out on one floor with an entrance hall, and a pretty sitting room which was newly refurbished in 2016. A wood-burning stove provides comfort for those cosy evenings, and a large sofa along one wall gives a view of both the fire and a TV in the corner. Next door is a bedroom with a king size double bed, large mirror, dressing table and a built-in cupboard. The house also has a separate kitchen which is equipped with all of the utensils and devices needed for a holiday break, so you don’t need to bring anything with you. Next door is a bathroom, which has a bath and power shower. There are no steps to climb (except for two outside from the car park).
The enclosed garden offers beautiful views over the Owlpen estate, with the manor house itself visible on the other side of the valley. There are miles of walks along footpaths and woodland tracks all over the estate, allowing visitors to venture out and not se a soul all day while enjoying the delights of one of the most beautiful valleys in the Cotswolds.
