Owlpen Manor Cotswold Holiday Cottages, Exclusive wedding venue, and Tudor Manor House

This spacious modern farmhouse cottage is purpose-designed for 21st century holiday use. It has the advantage of being easy to run, but is built in traditional Cotswold stone style with typical gabled windows and hood moulds.

Rural seclusion for two in a sunny cottage, completely self contained, converted from an ancient Cotswold stone byre next to Owlpen’s original Elizabethan demesne farm.

This traditional cottage is laid out on one floor with an entrance hall, and a pretty sitting room which was newly refurbished in 2016.  A wood-burning stove provides comfort for those cosy evenings, and a large sofa along one wall gives a view of both the fire and a TV in the corner.  Next door is a bedroom with a king size double bed, large mirror, dressing table and a built-in cupboard.  The house also has a separate kitchen which is equipped with all of the utensils and devices needed for a holiday break, so you don’t need to bring anything with you.  Next door is a bathroom, which has a bath and power shower. There are no steps to climb (except for two outside from the car park).

The enclosed garden offers beautiful views over the Owlpen estate, with the manor house itself visible on the other side of the valley.  There are miles of walks along footpaths and woodland tracks all over the estate, allowing visitors to venture out and not se a soul all day while enjoying the delights of one of the most beautiful valleys in the Cotswolds.

We got married at the gorgeous Owlpen Manor on the 25th of October and it was just heaven. The team are friendly and so caring, in the lead up and on our wedding day itself they made you feel like part of a family and that your wedding day mattered. It is the most beautiful, hidden away area of the Cotswolds (which does mean its remote and a little challenging to get there) and I can honestly say for us it was the prefect place to get married. If you're looking for a stunning venue, secluded in the gorgeous countryside, with great gardens for pictures and picturesque cottages for your guests to stay in, a friendly and professional team who make you feel like a priority and that nothing is too much trouble, then Owlpen is the place for you. Words can't describe how perfect our wedding day was, and I can safely say that was pretty much due to super stars like Bella who coordinated our day, and to the whole team for being the warm, fun bunch they are. Stunning venue, brilliant people.

We had a short break in one of the cottages, which was warm and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. The member of staff we met when we arrived was friendly and welcoming. The estate is beautiful, with lots of walks through woodlands and fields, for which you will need strong walking boots or wellington boots, as it was quite muddy when we went. Although it is only a short distance from the village of Uley it feels like you are in another world. A lovely place to stay.

What we loved most about the venue for our wedding is that you could have it for the whole weekend, really took away any stress from the occasion, particularly as we live overseas. Bella was incredibly organized and accommodating, again this was a big plus that they were happy to be flexible with any requests and also gave us plenty of useful suggestions and “have you thought ofs” for areas to use, photos and dessert wine. The day itself was faultless thanks to Bella & Theo, no stress whatsoever, we had so many compliments about the venue, grounds, service and professionalism of the team (particularly that they kept the champagne flowing during the drinks & canapé reception). Can’t recommend this venue enough, the building, grounds & accommodation have so much character, we had around 30 guests on site all weekend, had a catered, close family event on the Friday night and breakfast Sunday morning. There’s even a swimming lake which the groom party used to great effect on the morning of the wedding.

If you are thinking of having your wedding here- just do it! We booked Owlpen and all its cottages for 3 nights for our wedding in June 2023 and also booked glamping on its lower lawn by the ponds. During the planning Hugo, Bella and Tonia were so responsive and helpful, continuously coming up with ideas and suggestions for how we could use the whole property come rain or shine. They were fun to work with and made all our suggestions work from Friday night legal ceremony, drinks and BBQ, to the big wedding on Saturday to yoga, picnic, swimming and even a cinema night in the Cyder Barn on the Sunday. They honestly just took all our ideas and just let us make their home our own, it felt like they were there to give us our dream wedding rather than a venue that just hosts people back to back and is less personal. So many of our guests on the day commented on how amazing the staff were, the waiters even came and took my flowers to put them in a vase for photos and I think was purely dedicated to topping up my Prosecco! The caterers they work with, Well Seasoned Catering, were completely delicious (and they supplied 6 meals for varying numbers of people over the weekend!! Every meal being incredible!!) We’ve been to many weddings and venues and felt that what Owlpen succeeds in that is so unique is that they focus on the personal experience, you feel like you and your guests have the whole property just for yourselves and you’re not rushed about or told no, there’s no conveyor belt here!! And I haven’t even mentioned how beautiful the house is, the ground, the summer gardens, the many fountains they have, the little country roads and the beautiful country cottages on site… It was a completely wonderful venue and family and we would highly recommend to EVERYONE we talk to!!

It's very beautiful. The cottages are well equipped . Ours had a large fridge freezer, washing machine. Dishwasher. Kitchen has a dining area great for children to eat at. It also had a large separate dining room. The scenery was beautiful there were pheasants everywhere when we were there. Ideal for a walking holiday. I was there for a wedding. Not so suitable for elderly people. Only because paths and road is unmade and difficult to walk on. But for families and young people would highly recommend.

I don’t think I have the words to describe how perfect our wedding was at Owlpen. Not only is the setting just beyond beautiful, and you get to have all your guests stay on site, but everyone who works there is so friendly and relaxed - I found it impossible to get stressed about anything. The drinks flowed, everyone was rocking and having the best time ever. I really hope I get to have another celebration there at some point. I also think they’ve tricked me into thinking I could be a wedding planner because they were so helpful and responsive with any questions I had along the way - the whole thing was so easy to plan!

Where do we start? From the moment we came to see the venue till the moment we packed up after our mid-August wedding the whole experience provided from the team at Owlpen Manor was nothing short of exemplary. The venue itself is beautiful, from the quirky cottages to the wonderful Cyder and Pole Barns and the incredible scenery the whole place was a perfect backdrop for our big day. The team at Owlpen manor were clear in their communication, organised and extremely helpful in the months before the occasion. They were quick to respond to emails and flexible with our requests. The whole team, to a person made organising the day a smooth and stress-free process. We had our ceremony on the top lawn which was a perfect setting for a summers' day with beautiful scenery adding to the photos. Our wedding coordinator on the day, Bella was clearly very passionate about making our special day the best it could be and ran the day perfectly. Luke, Theo and the rest of the service team were very professional, friendly and made us delicious margaritas (these were heavily sampled by us and our guests throughout the evening, much to our dismay the next morning!). Another special mention to Hugo and Tonya who were brilliant in the lead up to the day, nothing was too much for them! A wedding is obviously a very important day for those planning one. Not only is Owlpen aesthetically stunning, the warm soul that makes it truly special comes from the hospitality provided by a team of people who are clearly passionate, caring and very skilled at what they do. Thank you from the bottom of our newly-married hearts. Jimmy and Caroline Drummond-Hoskins
